Some neighbor friends called and asked us to come over and roast marshmallows the other night - as we were finishing up supper. So, we scrambled to clean up, and I started looking through the pantry because I knew we had some marshmallows in there somewhere. I couldn't find them, and I became frustrated by my disorganized pantry. I sighed and said, "Oh, I can't keep up."
Josh said, "Sure you can keep up. You can keep up with the blog!"
I am NOT picking on my man. He is such a stud and was totally joking!
Of course... I immediately had a defense! If you know me just a little bit, you know I am very quick to defend myself and my convictions!
I said (with my chest held high and quite confident!), "Well... when I look back at my life, I certainly don't want to be remembered for my highly organized pantry! I am busy creating and capturing special moments with our children!" :)
With all that said, I do believe a simple, organized home provides great peace to a Mother and her family... but there's a balance!
When I look back on my life, I want to be remembered for creating and capturing moments. Today, creating a storybook of their lives is higher on my to-do list than the pantry.
An organized pantry would be really nice, but it's not on the list for this week - and that's ok. It'll get done. Maybe when they're in college - and that's ok.
I am busy keeping up with other things right now, and I'm keeping up just fine. :)
You are just fine. Keeping up with what matters.
