Our Florida Trip

We took our first family vacation the week of June 12th. The four of us flew to Bradenton, FL to visit my brother and his family. We were a little nervous to travel with a 2 year old and 6 month old. We drove down to Indy the night before and stayed with Holly, got up at 6am, and then flew to FL. Once we got there, we had to get a rental car and drive another hour. We could not have asked for the girls to be any better. They did awesome! The 2 hour flight was just long enough. Any longer, we could have had some problems. :) I have included some of my favorite photos. Enjoy!



This is Sophie and her Daddy on the beach. The enormous body of water made her a little nervous when she first layed her eyes on it, but quickly warmed up to the ocean. She was running, splashing, and swimming by the end of the week.

Derek and Beth kept the girls for a night while Josh and I headed to Siesta Key. We got a hotel on the beach and were able to make it to my brother's restaurant in Sarasota for a date. It was a wonderful night alone and we are forever grateful to Beth for offering. We owe you big time!

This is my beautiful sister-in-law, Beth. She fell madly in love with Halle. This was the first time she and Derek met her.

My brother recently opened a restaurant in Sarasota. He used to work at Emeril's in New Orleans. He is an incredible chef and his place is fabulous. You have to check it out if you are ever in Sarasota. It's called "Derek's".

This was Sophie's reaction the first time she saw the beach. Isn't she stinkin' adorable!!?? I just love this picture.

We had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back again soon. We love you so much, Derek, Beth, and Jack.
