I love Santa
I wanted to take a moment to add something about Sophie's current belief and faith in Santa. The other day, she said, "Mommy, I love Santa." I said, "Do you love Jesus?" She said, "Yes." I said, "Good, I just wanted to make sure you know that it's not all about Santa. Christmas is Jesus' birthday." I keep trying to make sure the girls know that is the reason we celebrate Christmas. A few people commented on how they couldn't believe she ran into Santa's arms and climbed right up onto his lap. She is pretty slow to warm up to people and rarely runs into someone's lap, let alone a strange man in a red suit. That is why I cried! She has a true belief and faith in Santa. My hope and prayer for our children is that through our teaching and modeling, they would have that same type of faith and love for Jesus and that one day they will run into the arms of Jesus just like they did with Santa. When I first became a Christian, I remember telling myself that I wanted to have the same, without a doubt, faith in God like I did in Santa as a child. We live by faith and not by sight!

I have a HUGE joy in my heart when I hear you talk about God and your faith. I think at times people go through rough patches in life and turn away from God thinking there couldn't possibly be one. I know that I would not be where I am in life without him and it sounds as though you are in the same boat. Keep teaching your children and they in turn will teach us. LOVE you and your friendship Myah.
ReplyDeleteLove you too, Kelli. It is the rough times that will draw you closer to God if you rely on him. He will get you through anything! Enormous faith reaps enormous reward. :)
