Well, I went to see Jill on Tuesday and I was absolutely amazed at the strength God gave me. I woke up on Tuesday morning and I felt so strong, rested, and content. Not emotional at all. I dropped the girls off at Grandma's and enjoyed my long car ride alone. I stayed for about 6 hours. It was so nice to finally have some time with her to hug her, share, and cry together. I even got to see R.D. a couple of times. He looked at me and said, "Thank you for being with Jill today. You have always been such a positive influence in her life. She is always happier when she's around you." I didn't even lose it with him! I just got a little teary and smiled. :) Being pregnant, I just don't know when my emotions with go off!
He finished his second skin grafting surgery. They will keep doing them - I'm not sure how many. The neurosurgeon said again that his spine is not repairable, and he confirmed that he is indeed paralyzed from the waist down. However - everyone is still hoping and praying that God will heal his spine and shock the doctors. Their church is starting 30 days of prayer - praying specifically for his spine. I would love to see this be a testimony of God's power. We'll see!
I would love for you all to join us in prayer for R.D. Reid. If you are interested in keeping up with his story, I have attached his caring bridge site for you to read.
