Sophie turned 5.....

on January 14th! Wow, only 1 1/2 months late. :) Better late than never, right? I have committed myself to not do Ian's 1 month post until I do Sophie's.

Anyway, Sophie turned 5! I can't believe it. We celebrated in style on January 3rd with a Princess Tea Party hosted by Margy. She had 7 friends dropped off. I was in charge of the games. We played "Hot Teddy" - a version of hot potatoe but with a teddy bear. We also played musical chairs and did a teddy bear craft. Margy had a beautiful princess cake and wonderful tea party food. The girls drank apple juice out of tea cups.
We then did a small family party on her actual birthday.
She recently started tennis lessons in February. She is still taking ballet and tap one day a week. She loves both! She is very coordinated and athletic looking when she is playing tennis. We are hoping for a college scholarship. :)
She is doing wonderful in school. This school year, she has started writing and reading. She can write several words that she knows by heart. I bought a set of Bob Books that we are working through. She is doing wonderful. She will start Kindergarten in August and go every day for 1/2 the day.
She is really growing up emotionally and a great helper around the house. She is cleaning up more and really helps with Halle and the baby. She is a pleaser and can't take it when she gets in trouble.
Her favorite thing to do is socialize. She loves going to friends' houses and having friends over to play. She asks each morning when she gets up - who can I play with today?
She remains Daddy's princess. He has to be very conscious to spread his love around to all the kids. She stole his heart a long time ago.

  2. Krue is taking tennis lessons starting this spring! He requested these lessons way back in the fall. I have no idea where he got the idea of playing tennis because Lee and I don't play. We have several rackets around the garage so he plays with those... and our sitter took him to a tennis match one time. We'll have to have Sophie and Krue play tennis together sometime :)

Sophie sounds like she is blossoming into little lady. Can't believe she is 5! And that she can hoola hoop!
