For those of you who know the Cindella story - she's not allowed to go to the ball until all of her work is done. Last night, as I was ironing Josh's shirts for the week (because I didn't get to it during the day) I was thinking that I felt like Cinderella. I feel like my work is never done - therefore, when can I have fun? (Don't get me wrong, we have our fair share. :) )
Currently, there is work to be done around the clock.
Yesterday, my day went like this:
Up at 6:30 to work from 6:30-7:30 at the computer
7:30 get in the shower and quickly get ready before the kids get up.
8:00 everyone is up and all 3 ready to eat and be changed.
Get to school by 9
Rush home and try to get the house under control: empty trash cans, laundry, dishes, etc
10ish baby needs to eat again.
11:30 pick up the girls from school
home for lunch
1pm off to Auburn for Ian to go to the Chiropractor
Back home. What's for dinner? Shoot! I haven't been to the store yet for the week.
4pm I called my Mom to see if she could come to watch the kids so I could go to the store. Josh is working late Mon, Tues, Wed of this week. I don't have anything for his lunches!
Oh, I did throw together a spinach lasagne while waiting for my Mom to get here.
7pm Josh gets home, mom leaves, time to start bedtime.
8pm the baby is down, it's time to finish up the girls.
Josh reads books while I pick up the downstairs, make coffee for the morning, finish up dinner dishes.
8:30pm everyone is in bed.
I never got to Josh's ironing during the day.
9pm I iron his clothes for the week and think about how I feel like Cinderella
10pm Josh and I are finally in bed.
12am Baby needs to eat
3:30am Baby needs to eat again
Halle also got up at this time to pee.
6:30 am Baby needs to eat again
6:30am it's time for me to start my day again.
I walk downstairs to get my cup of coffee, give Josh a kiss goodbye, and start the day all over again - just like yesterday.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
My Mother once told me, "A woman's work is never done."
Can I get an "Amen!"
Amen, Sister! I remember my mom telling me the same thing. I often laugh at an email I got once about how many things a woman does from the time she says she's going to bed until she actually does and how the man says he's going to bed and just does it! Sounds like Ian is having another growth spurt! Hang in there, you will get a full nights rest again sometime and will feel better during the day. Kindergarted is not far off either, which is hard to believe!
ReplyDeleteYou will get a full night's sleep once again, when the kids are all married!!! =)
ReplyDeleteLove you,
Mom
OMG. That's all I can say....
ReplyDeleteDare I ask if you are feeling any better?!?!?
Love you!
Holly
Amen! Amen! Amen! Love this post. You'll be happy you documented your schedule when you are looking back after all of your kids have grown. My mom always did this and she just can't believe what life was like for her with 3 kids under 4 years. As you know... it will get easier (physically). It is the mental/emotional part we have to worry about in the up and coming years (teenagers!) Hang in there. Love you.
ReplyDeleteAMEN!!!! I don't have a newborn at home but Wayne was up 3 times in the night with his post-surgery foot pains, so it feels like I have an infant again-AAAHHHHH!
