My boss at church, Pastor Diane - the children's pastor - along with the office staff hosted a shower for little Ian and me. After trying to convince her I didn't need a shower, she didn't really care and did it anyway! :) It was amazing and one of the most special showers I've ever been a part of. It was very simple. We gathered and ate (amazing food), opened gifts, and socialized. I got a LOT of gift cards to a wonderful spa in our area. I am excited to enjoy some ME time. I've said it so much before, and I'll keep saying it. We have been blessed beyond our wildest expectations. The guests gathered around Ian and me and prayed over us. It was a very special moment that I will never forget. Today at church, the band played a song that said, "We have been blessed so we want to be a blessing" That pretty much sums up how we feel. We look forward to living a life in which we continue to bless others.

ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to hear that you have such a great support group, too. I can't imagine what it's like to be in your shoes, but I am glad that people around you do! You're an amazing mom---who knows, by the time I get around to having kids, maybe you could mentor me :) !
