The first year is just tough

I've been reflecting a lot lately on how much easier things are feeling. What I've realized is the FIRST YEAR IS JUST TOUGH. As we settle into our 11th month with Ian, things are starting to lift a bit. No matter how "easy" your baby is, it just takes time to get settled and into a routine. Ian has been such an awesome baby. No trouble or major stress! It's just a matter of adjusting to your "new life". Life as we knew is with 2 is over. We now have a new life with 3 - and we love it! It's busy and FULL - just what we wanted. We wanted a big family - and we got it!
3 is a lot.
We were sitting at dinner the other night and Josh said he just wanted the time to stop. They are growing up so fast! It's unbelievable.
Each year will present new challenges, but as Ian interacts more and more with the girls - more and more tears fill my eyes. They absolutely adore him and he adores the girls! He kicks and screams as they play together.
I am blown away with how we've been blessed. We truly love parenting these kids!

  1. The first year is tough. You are doing a great job and just think it is almost over. Jackson is at an awesome age where he can now entertain himself without anyone in the same room for at least 30 minutes. It is heaven. You are a terrific mother!

  2. You are so right, and as much as we do want time to stop, you will find that as Ian gets bigger, the giggles will get louder and fill your heart with so much warmth, you'll feel tears of happiness! It's so bittersweet!

  4. I would love to have another baby. However, I want to still have time with my husband, take vacations without a nanny, be able to afford to have the kids involved in things, travel, live a debt free life, (so many more reasons to stop at 3) and I really want Ian to be my BABY BOY!!! :D
