last night, as we sat at the kitchen table together, at 9pm (because he just got home). Yes - a 14 hr day for him - "So, how was your day? What did you do?"
Hmmm... what did we do? So, I started telling him, and it was so humorous to me, I just had to write it down. Because - years from now - I want to remember this.....
So I said:
Well, we got up and did breakfast. Once I cleaned up, we headed to the basement for some playtime. About 30 min. later we came upstairs. The girls did some work at the table. Ian laid down for his morning nap. I mopped the bathroom floors upstairs. I threw in a load of laundry. I got online to check out some books at the library. I did some research on how to bake a German Choc. cake. I cooked lunch. Ian woke up. I served lunch. I made a doctor's appt. I took Halle to school. I took Sophie to school. Ian and I ran to the store. I came home. Ian and I went for a walk. I laid Ian down. Halle came home. Sophie came home. I served a snack. I made dinner. I served dinner. I baked a cake. I put the kids to bed. You came home. I served you dinner. Now, here I am - telling you about my day - and I can't even believe what I'm saying. :D
All he said is, "I'm so glad you do what you do."
I'm glad too.
I loved this post, Myah. It made me think about every detail involved in my days, too. It's amazing how all the seemingly mundane, little tasks of the day add up and equal stability and security for our kiddos and communicate to them and our hubbies that they are loved and cherished! :)
