Halle is 9 months old!

For some reason these quarterly birthdays really get to me. At 3 months, they really come alive. I couldn't believe it when she was 6 months! And now, she is 9 months old and huge! We had our doctor's appt. today and she weighed in at 22 lb. (95%) and was 29 in. long (90%). Her head was also in the 90%. Everything was great. No shots, just a finger poke for an iron check.
We need to start thinking about introducing finger foods and the sippy cup. She gags on Cheerios. The doc. said to keep trying.

So at 9 months, she is REALLY moving and her personality is exactly the same as the day she was born. Totally sweet and so good. We feel so blessed to have be given the opportunity to raise our girls...and maybe more. :)

She is crawling everywhere all the time, but she started pulling herself up a week ago.

She has discovered the stairs and would like to see how they work. No, I did not put her in this position. :)

Sophie looks so excited, huh! This thumb tastes good.

One morning, I went in to wake up Halle and she looked so cute. I just had to take a picture. I think she looks so big here. Look at the drool spot on the sheets. She had a good night's sleep.

This picture was take a while back, but I just love it. Halle really loves her Daddy. He loves giving her the bedtime bottle. Nursing at bedtime was always my favorite time of the day. There is something so peaceful about sitting in a dark room rocking a baby. We better enjoy these next 3 months before the bottle disappears.

At 9 months...

Halle loves: her mommy, Sophie, her daddy, other people, playing with children, crawling around discovering what's on the ground, pulling herself up, bathtime, when her mommy sings, walks, swings, hammocks, crawling under things, Sophie Sophie Sophie!

Halle does not like: getting dressed after her bath (she is cold and tired), when she can't have something she wants, getting her nose wiped, when Sophie pushes her over, sweet foods, laying still for a diaper change

Eats: formula 24oz per day, rice/oatmeal/mixed baby cereal, Gerber baby foods...all fruits and veggies

Sleeps: Awesome! 7:30pm until 6am, eats, and then sleeps until 7:30 or 8:00am. Two naps a day. 9:30ish and 2ish. She sleeps a total of 3-4 hours during the day.

  1. Nathan used to gag on cheerios too. Actually, he basically gagged on everything. Maybe you have tried this, and it sounds yucky but it works. Make the cheerios slighty moist with water. It is messy, but after giving Nathan the cheerios like this for a week or so, he was able to eat HALF of a cheerio. :) Then after a week or so he could eat the whole cheerio. :) He also did a lot better with puffs. They melted faster in his mouth so he didn't have a chance to gag on them. Good luck!
