One Year Ago...

As I reflect upon this past year, I am amazed at how fast it went. I think that is pretty typical. I am filled with a variety of emotions. I am excited that Halle is older, walking, healthy, beautiful, and social. I am saddened that my baby is quickly turning into a toddler. I am busy dealing with 2 very active children now. But most of all, I feel like the luckiest person there is. Something was said to me over the weekend that has really stuck with me. A neighbor (who is 27 and has no children) came over on Saturday night to play cards. She said, "How do you do it day after day?" I immediately responded, without even thinking, "I love it more than the world." I didn't even have to think about it. The words just came out. Now, you all know there are some moments I DO NOT love. That just comes with the package. However, I just feel so incredibly blessed to have 2 healthy, growing daughters, and the wonderful times far out weigh the difficult.

Here is Halle in my belly. There are several times in a day, still, when I am carrying both of them around!

Halle is getting ready to come out and see the world.

Are there even words to describe the moment you see your new child for the first time?

The happy Mommy and Daddy enjoy a few quiet moments with Halle before Sophie joins the party.

Halle, you don't know what is about to hit you!

You two have grown to be such great buddies over the year.

Merry Christmas to us! Halle was born on the 20th. Our first day home was the 22nd. What a wonderful Christmas gift!

Here's to another wonderful year!

  1. Love the pics...even without the narrative! They tell a story in themselves. Can't believe Halle is almost 1!!!!!
