So, What's New?

I thought it had been too long since I have blogged on how the girls are doing. It has been really hard to keep up on since I have been working full-time. I am looking forward to my final 28 days of teaching until I get to be home with the girls full-time! It will be sad to leave my career, but I KNOW we are making the right decision. I have a lot of years left in my life to work (hopefully). I go through moments when I am really sad to leave, but then I have moments when I can't wait to be home. The bottom line is that I want to raise my girls, and I know that I will never get these first 5 years back.

All I can say it that I am totally blown away by how far they have both come over the past few months. Sophie is getting so big! She is riding her bike like a pro - it has training wheels on it, pom poms, and a horn. We are looking for a basket. Her Grandma and Grandpa got it for her and they have decked it all out for her too. She loves riding it. She can pedal so fast, control the brakes, and steer really well. That has all happened within the past week. The things she says continue to crack us up. Her Grandma brought her some bunny marshmellows the other day. She asked me one evening, "Mommy, may I please have some bunny marshmellows?" I said, "sure". She said, "Ok, good, because I've already had a lot!" She cracks me up.
Sophie will be starting pre-school in September on Tues. and Thurs from 9-11:30. She is so ready for that. She will go to the church that we are members of, and it is right around the corner from our home.
Sophie is already is 4T clothes. All of her 3T pants were becoming high waters on her. She is growing so tall. I think she will be like her mommy. Like you can't already tell that. :)
Halle, Halle, Halle..... She has the best personality in the entire world! I cannot wait to see what this girl becomes. I love absolutely everything about her. She is so fun, wild, care-free, sweet, cuddly, adorable, the list goes on and on.
She is talking up a storm. She says a lot of words. She is not putting 2 words together, but she is saying so much. Something new each day.
She transitioned to 1 afternoon nap shortly after I wrote her 13 month update. She sleeps from 1-3:30 or 4 P.M. I love 1 nap a day! It gives us a much larger window of opportunity to do things.

Sophie and Halle are playing with each other so much, and Halle really holds her own. Sophie does not pick on her and push her around as much as she used to. Halle will seriously knock her down. She is quickly catching her in size. Halle is in 18 month clothes.

I can't believe how fast the time is going. I can't wait for the summer!

  1. They are so cute. Maybe this summer we can get the kids all together again. Ian and Sophie sound like they'd have lots in common. Anna and Halle also.
