This post came through my email today from Simple Mom. I am sharing it with all of you because I have an amazing mentor in my life, and I think you all should too! :) Take the time to read it and let me know what you think.
I have referred to my mentor a lot on my blog. It was never something that was formally "set up" and we didn't sign a contract or anything. It kind of just happened. If fact, I don't know if she would tell you that she is my mentor - but I will tell you that she IS my mentor.
When I feel like I'm falling, I call on her. When I succeed, she cheers me to the finish line. Now, of course - my Mom is a wonderful mentor - and I call on her A LOT when I'm falling and need cheers!! And my Mom is always there for me!
A mentor - to me - is someone who has GONE BEFORE ME. Sheri is able to walk me through a variety of issues because she has gone before me - and I ADMIRE her as a woman, RESPECT her as a parent and LOVE her as a friend. (oh, and she's Young Mother of the Year too!)
I love you, Sheri. Thanks for mentoring me - even when you don't know you are.
I look forward to the day when I can mentor a woman.
