Our Thankful Tree

This was originally published in the Fall of 2011.

We have so much to be thankful for.  Here's our version of a Thankful Tree.

Look at Ian's grumpy face!  :)

:: I found a large ball jar and filled it with several stones to prevent it from tipping over.
:: We ripped 2 grocery bags and twisted them up to create the branches.
:: We put the branches in the weighted down jar.
:: We gathered a variety of fall colored construction paper and ripped the paper into the shapes of       leaves.
:: We each wrote things we're thankful for and taped them to the branches.

Oh, now he's happy... he has chocolate!  :)
We leave extra leaves and a pen in a jar beside the tree so we can add a few more leaves each day.  I plan to leave this up through the Christmas season.  I may move it over to our mantle eventually.  It's just too stinking cute to put away!

Halle wrote "My Sophie" 3 times!  She meant to do it and pointed it out to all of us.  That's how much she loves her Sophie!  She also wrote "My Jesis" with a backwards J and all!  Man, I love that kind of stuff.

We have so much to be thankful for!

In the midst of our daily busyness, let's be intentional about slowing down and noticing all the beauty that surrounds us.  It's there.

A thankful heart can transform your life.

"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful."  Colassians 3:15

"Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe."  Hebrews 12:28

"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful."  Colassians 4:2
