Sophie started sucking her thumb around 6 months and has sucked it ever since. She sucks her left thumb. Halle has recently started sucking her right thumb. We never had to give her a pacifier, so I didn't know what she would do. She always sucked on her fist to put herself to sleep as a newborn. She doesn't suck it all the time, but the other night she really had a good grip on it. We'll see if it continues. I am not opposed to it at all! It has always enabled Sophie to self-soothe. The other night, Halle's bedtime was approaching. She started sucking her thumb and the next thing I knew she was sawing logs in her swing! She is so sweet.
