Our Christmas 2006

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. Last year, Halle was 5 days old so everyone came to us. That was nice!!! This year, the festivites kicked in on the 23rd. We went to my mom's side on that day and then to a friend's party that night. On Christmas Eve, we spent lunch with Josh's parents, headed to church, and then we went home to spend Christmas Eve at our house with the girls. The picture below is of Sophie spreading out reindeer food on Christmas Eve. We also hung out a key for Santa! (just in case he couldn't fit down the chimney)
We woke up on Christmas morning and spent some time alone as a family. Then Josh's parents arrived around 9am. My mom was in Florida this year with my brother and his family.

Sophie go a new Mongoose bike from Josh's parents! Pom poms and everything. We still need to get a basket and horn. :)

My mom spent Christmas in Florida, so we celebrated with her on the 28th. She got Sophie some hot pink Crocs with crayon accessories on them. They are adorable, and she has worn them everyday since!

My mom also got Sophie an easel, which has been a major hit! I will be posting some more pictures of that seperately.

We were showered with so much this year. However, we also made sure to give. We adopted a family through the Christmas Bureau with my Dad and Step mom. It was a single mom, a 4 year old, and an 11 month old. We really gave a lot to them. We also adopted 2 familes as a grade level, and we did Operation Christmas Child through our church. It was neat for us to shop for the items with Sophie and talk about how they weren't for her.

The highlight of my gifts was from Josh, and it is a Mother's Necklace. It is a round "family tree", silver, and has the girls' birthstones in it. I LOVE it!

What a great ending to a great year!

Happy Birthday, Jesus!
