Mother of the Year

Have any of you ever thought that you knew someone - or maybe even yourself - who deserved to be "Mother of the Year"? Or maybe you joked about the title at times. Maybe you never even knew such a title existed.

Well, I'm here to tell you that it does! I know because one of my best friends is currently wearing the crown! Yeah, that's right. Sheri Carlstrom, a wonderful friend and mentor of mine, was nominated to represent Indiana. She traveled to New York City 2 weeks ago and won "National Young Mother of the Year" for the entire USA!

To be honest, I wasn't surprised when I heard the news. Sheri is amazing and has walked through so much with me. I met her through our church, and we have grown to be very close over the past 3 years.

I am so happy that God put Sheri in my life. We met for a coffee this morning for a couple of hours and she's one of those woman who continually mentors me through whatever I'm facing. I hope that each of you have someone like that in your life - someone who is a few steps ahead of you. Someone that will pray for you, listen to you, encourage you...

I'm so proud of you, Sheri, and I'm beyond blessed to be your friend.
