A fruit fly trap that actually works...

After months of co-existing with these teeny tiny little creatures, I was nearly losing my mind.  Well, I was kind of getting used to them.  Josh kept reminding me, "Myah, it's not really a big deal."  We have a compost keeper in the kitchen, garden produce constantly covering every surface of the kitchen and fridge.  It's just part of the season.  So, I really did kind of grow to accept it.

However... when a friend would drop in - I hated that I had to justify why they were swatting and batting away gnats, you know?!

Well, I had a dear friend come over the other day and as she was swatting and batting away the veggie gnats - she kindly suggested, "Oh, you just do apple cider vinegar and a few drops of dish soap!"  :)  Thanks, Jill!!  <3

Seriously, it has worked very well.  Better than the several other strategies I have tried.

I cleaned all surfaces, stored as much as I could in the fridge, freezer and pantry and set up a few traps around the hot spots.

I'm pleased.

Because when they settle into a glass of red wine I pour at the end of a long day - that's just not acceptable.  You are not welcome in that trap.  No way!

  1. I have 3 ramekins of apple cider vinegar w a couple drops of dish soap sitting around our kitchen. I feel victorious every time I look in and see the little annoying critters dead in there! Jen
