Adjusting - and a little about our days.

I feel like we're finally adjusting to Summer. It's hard on me when the schedule completely changes - I'm a schedule type of girl - who likes a routine. The girls were done with school and Ian went to 1 nap a day. Big changes all at once.

The mornings around here are pretty busy. Ian wakes up around 7:30 or 8. The girls will wake between 8:30 and 9. We do breakfast, clean up, get ready and start the day! That includes a few chores and then we usually head outside. I've been so hesitant to take all 3 out to an event in the morning due to Ian's crazy mobility and lack of self control :) Is that a nice way to put it? However, lately - I've been getting braver - because I don't want to hold back the girls (and I don't like staying home all day) - and he's been awesome! Believe it or not, he's getting more self control, and we're actually have positive experiences. This morning we went to Storytime again at the library. A great time was had by all.

Lunch time hits around noon and then Ian's nap! That's one of my favorite times of the day! :)
At that time, the girls will have some quiet playtime, watch a movie and then I always try to do something special with them. I try to get a few more chores done, prep dinner, etc while they have quiet time - I may even sneak in a 20 minute rest on occasion!

After rest time, we usually head back outside and hang with the neighbors and wait for Daddy to get home!

Our days are busy, filled with fun, some fights, whining, learning, lots of diapers, feedings, messes, laughs, lots of hugs and kisses, friends, texting, chores, cuddles, a baby is on my hip a lot, you name it!

I'm trying my best to just BE where I am right NOW - to not wish this season away - and to BE IN THE MOMENT at all times. Even when I want it to be all about me - at times - it never is.

I think that's just BEING A MOM.

  1. Adjustments are hard aren't they? I totally get that. Year round school is a bit crazy - that... and kids homesick for friends. I know what you mean about just "being present." Kids are adorable - ...

  3. Just when we are adjusted to our summer schedule... school is going to start. Go figure.

Wow! I wish my kids slept that late :)

You are a great Mom, Myah... Keep up the good work.

P.S. I am jealous that you have a garden! I wish we had fresh produce in our backyard... but I have no urge to make a garden or take care of it. I guess we will be sticking to the farmers market :)
